The Australian Government 2.0 Taskforce has released a draft of a report titled: "Engage: Getting on with Government 2.0" (PDF/Word). The report is available online and is open for public comments until 5PM Wednesday 16th December 2009.

The Government 2.0 Taskforce, was created following precedents of the Obama administration in the US and the Brown's government in the UK. It is a government-led multistakeholder advisory group, which is focused on two primary goals. First, it is focused on increasing the openness and transparency of the government through making the government information more accessible. Second, it aims at increasing public engagement online. Beyond its advisory mandate, the Taskforce will also fund projects aimed at advancement of its Government 2.0 vision. The "Engage: Getting on with Government 2.0" report is the first output of the Taskforce.
