Professor Lim graduated with degrees in computer science and law with Honours from the University of Sydney. She currently holds a joint appointment at the National University of Singapore as a Visiting Professor at the Information + Innovation Policy Research Centre, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, and at the Faculty of Law. She is also Principal Consultant at Galexia, in Sydney, Australia and is a Research Associate at the Cyberspace Law & Policy Centre, University of New South Wales. Professor Lim was previously a senior law academic at an Australian university. Professor Lim also has considerable experience as an IT professional and was a consultant on numerous strategic database and Internet projects in the 1990s. She has published widely on Internet Law and Technology Law, Intellectual Property Law, E-commerce Law and Privacy Law in the US, Europe, Singapore, India, Australia and New Zealand and in prestigious international journals. Her seminal book Cyberspace Law: Commentaries and Materials, first published in 2002 by Oxford University Press is in its second edition with a Foreword by the Honourable Justice Gummow AC QC of the High Court of Australia.

Yee Fen is a sought after speaker and her speaking engagements have included those in the US, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. She also sits on the editorial boards of numerous international IT and IP law journals. Her current research and teaching include legal issues in virtual worlds, cybercrime, privacy law and electronic authentication.
